Wholesale voice over IP (VoIP) provider, iVox Communications, has launched the first component of an online automation portal intended to minimise incongruous manual processes within a maturing VoIP industry.
According to iVox general manager, Michael Clarke, the tool, iVox Connect, benefits customers by eliminating the need to submit report requests in forms, manage documents, or send files and manual work.
Internally, it reduces iVox’s staff workload as data can be passed through the system rather than requiring man hours, and therefore enabling faster customer service.
“The first module was released last week, and it’s purely for VoIP services,” Clarke told ARN. “Within that, customers can order any kind of VoIP service anywhere in the world. For example, they can order a toll-free number in New Zealand, a New York inbound number, and so on.”
The second module, scheduled to go live by the end of February, will feature local number portability (LNP), allowing service providers to manage their own ports, as well as data processes.
Fixed line and broadband services will follow, with the portal scheduled for preliminary completion within three months, but open to ongoing development.
