MSP to resell vendor’s hybrid arrays

Enterprise storage company, Nimble Storage, has signed managed services provider (MSP) and consultancy, Applaud to its partner network as a value-added reseller (VAR).

The agreement will see Applaud resell Nimble’s hybrid arrays, and includes technical training, professional services, and post-sales support from the vendor.

According to the MSP, the partnership intends to cater for market demand fuelled by IT department adoption of virtualisation, Cloud, and Big Data strategies in Australia.

Applaud co-founder and managing director, Ricci Danieletto, said Nimble’s disruptive, flash-optimised storage portfolio will complement the MSP’s enterprise IT offering as they relate to datacentre and private Cloud-centric solutions.

Nimble’s hybrid storage solutions are based on its patented Cache Accelerated Sequential Layout (CASL) architecture which leverages the read performance of flash and cost-effective capacity of hard disk drives (HDDs). This is combined in Nimble InfoSight, a Cloud-based management service.

Commenting on the agreement, Nimble Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) channel sales director, Theo Hourmouzis, said, “[Applaud’s] expertise in managed, Cloud and professional services will help both companies deliver innovative storage technology and the highest level of performance, capacity and ease of use solutions which Australian business requires.”

Applaud and Nimble executives will co-host a lunch and learn forum in Sydney on February 27 targeting IT managers and executives. The event will include a technology demonstration.
