Merchants are increasingly choosing multiple platforms to meet their e-commerce needs, according to Magento.
A merchant may choose one platform for their core site, but marketing head at the e-commerce company, Craig Peasley, said an entirely different one may be selected for another purpose.
A reason for this approach is to get into international markets quickly and at a cost that works for the merchants
“In order to support new business models and global growth opportunities this year, flexibility, speed and choice will be critically important for merchants to achieve success,” Peasley said.
Better design approach
When it comes to industry trends, the rapid adoption of responsive Web design for mobile devices stood out for Peasley.
“A mobile commerce approach has grown so fast that it is now crucial for merchants to have a strategy in place in order to remain competitive,” he said.
As consumers are increasingly turning to their mobile device to shop and make purchases online any time of day, Peasley said it is important to think about the mobile experience.
“By enhancing their service offering, companies can potentially increase their market share and customer base,” he said.
