Australian IT firm, Oakton, has delivered an online admissions solution for Victoria University ahead of the 2014 student intake.
The solution, which went live on November 22, was delivered using Oracle Service Cloud – a Cloud-based service that combines web, social and contact centre for a unified, cross-channel solution.
It includes Oracle Policy Automation – a web based interactive questionnaire that helps students streamline their application process and determines eligibility for their course application.
The solution enables the students to work through the application process at their leisure from their own desktop, laptop or tablet device, and subsequently track the status of their application throughout the assessment cycle. The resulting faster selection outcomes are a key benefit for both the student and the University.
Oakton chief executive, Neil Wilson, said automating the university applications process had made the experience a lot less painful for students and more seamless and efficient for Victoria University.
“With the help of our partner, Oracle, we have implemented a fantastic cross-channel solution that has multiple benefits for every stakeholder,” he said.
