Australian ICT solutions firm Harbour IT has won a contract to provide Tigerair Australia’s strategic cloud, managed services and IT infrastructure solutions.
The new partnership will see Harbour IT replace a Singapore based service and provide IT Managed services, IT service desk support as well as transition Tigerair Australia to a Cloud based environment.
Harbour IT is Australian owned and is the first Australian infrastructure provider to offer flash Cloud, according to a company statement.
Tigerair Australia’s IT Program Manager Chris Panagiotidis said Tigerair had undertaken a comprehensive tender process to select a partner of an appropriate size, scale and fit with the breadth of services needed to support Tigerair Australia’s business growth strategies.
“The move to Harbour IT’s cloud based environment is a big step forward and will transition Tigerair Australia’s existing IT infrastructure into a highly available tier one operation,” he said.
“The change will deliver greater reliability and improve operational efficiencies within the overall business whilst reducing infrastructure costs.
“An on-demand, scalable, flexible, more robust and a far more agile IT infrastructure closely aligns with the airline’s business strategy and will support Tigerair’s future growth.
“Tigerair’s staff will benefit from a simplified and streamlined IT experience underpinned by a continuous service improvement ethos. Harbour IT’s service desk will actively address questions, resolve day-to-day operational IT issues and help enhance overall staff productivity.”
Harbour IT Partner and Victorian State Manager, Steve Evans, said the silent tools of IT infrastructure, management and support were vital to the optimal running of any organisation.
“We are proud to have been selected as the partner of choice for the growing brand of Tigerair Australia and to enable them to develop and harness their IT tools to maximum effect,” he said.
“As a long term partnership company, the Harbour IT team is thrilled to work with Tigerair to improve its IT service flexibility and responsiveness today and to implement systems and support that will scale with Tigerair as they grow in the exciting times that lie ahead.”
