FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DELL[TM] STEPS UP AS MAJOR SPONSOR OF NATIONAL RECYCLING WEEK 2003

Sydney, 10 November 2004 - Dell Australia announced today that it is a major sponsor of Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week, held November 10-16 across Australia. The project aims to motivate the community into positive environmental action through their participation in recycling programs and waste minimisation initiatives. Leveraging Dell’s Recycling Program that was introduced earlier this year, Dell will be providing an essential PCs recycling resource to consumers and businesses across Australia.

The Dell Recycling Program is a voluntary recycling initiative which offers home consumers, small and medium business, corporations and institutional customers an avenue to dispose their used and unwanted PCs, regardless of brands, in an environmentally responsible manner.

Customers can call Dell toll-free on 1800 465 890 to be connected to a Dell recycling representative. After securing the necessary consumer contact information, Dell’s recycling partner, HMR Group Australia will arrange for collection of the used PCs and address questions that customers may have on the program.

To encourage participation in the program, customers may also receive a Dell Recycling Cash Rebate Voucher that can be redeemed against recent and future purchases with Dell. Final value will depend on the age, condition and configuration of the systems to be recycled.

Dell Australia and New Zealand managing director David Miller said, “At Dell, environmental excellence is second nature. This recycling initiative reaffirms our corporate values and illustrates that Dell is a socially responsible and environmentally astute computer company.”

Dell designs products with a focus on the entire life cycle, extending product lifespan with efficient energy usage, avoiding environmentally sensitive materials and using parts that are capable of being recycled at the highest level. Dell’s manufacturing facilities based in Penang, Malaysia and Xiamen, China are certified to the environmental management system standard of ISO 14001.
