Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has signed a distribution deal with Sydney-based Avnet.
HDS A/NZ industry and alliance solutions director, Phil Teague, said the distribution deal is an extension of a relationship between the two companies in the US as well as markets such as EMEA.
“Building on our leadership in infrastructure, content management and converged technologies, Avnet’s scale, solutions design and industry reach will give us additional routes to market for our range of enterprise and mid-market solution offerings,” he said.
Teague said Avnet’s channel network is well prepared to deliver HDS’ infrastructure, content management and converged technologies in Australia.
“The national distribution agreement allows us to better support our partners and grow our local channel ecosystem with new vertical-focused solution offerings that complement our established partnerships in areas such as storage infrastructure and business continuity,” he said.
Partner focused approach
Avnet A/NZ vice president and general manager, Darren Adams, said that the distributor will use its network of value-added resellers and system integration channel partners to shift HDS hardware, software and services to local businesses.
“We are committed to enabling solution providers to bring HDS’ hardware, software and services solutions to their customers,” he said.
Adams adds that the partner-centric approach by HDS make the vendor a good fit for the distributor’s channel strategy.
“Our goals are tightly aligned toward enabling the success of our partners, and this will drive further engagement with our partner community in Australia,” he said.
“The HDS partnership will further allow us to reduce complexity for our partners whilst allowing them to capitalise on Cloud, Big Data and enterprise mobility opportunities in the enterprise and mid-markets.”
