ASX-listed IT services provider, Anittel (ASX:AYG) is keen to expand its presence in Victoria after renewed $3.5 million worth of customer contracts in the state.
Under the arrangements, Anittel will supply managed IT; telecommunication and hosted services to the unnamed Victorian customers to the end of 2016.
Anittel managing director and executive chairman, Peter Kazacos, said he was looking to expand Anittel’s Victorian presence and strategic relationships in the state.
"Most of our growth comes from Western Australia and Tasmania and other regional areas. Sydney and Melbourne haven't traditionally been the strongest locations and part of that is because we didn't acquire a large base there and there's also significant competition in those markets," Kazacos said. "We've had some wins there, but we have a much sharper market segment focus with our product offerings."
Kazacos said it had secured a good set of customers within the telco and IT space, and highlighted plans to heavily invest in its Cisco-based hosted collaboration services technology along with cloud services.
On top of the contract renewals, Anittel has also relocated its Victorian office to the Melbourne CBD and its CTO Rob Pickering also relocated to the state.
