ASX-listed ICT services provider, Data#3, has raised $17,500 to help sick children at its annual golf day in Brisbane.
The company presented Radio Lollipop, at the Mater Hospital in South Brisbane, with a cheque ,after more than 100 customers, vendor partners and staff took to the course at Brisbane’s Indooroopilly Golf Club, earlier this year.
The day was hosted by television presenter, Pat Welsh, and a post-event auction was held to garner donations.
Radio Lollipop is a volunteer charity organisation providing care, comfort, play and entertainment for sick children and young people in hospital.
Radio Lollipop Australia director Sandra Ursino said the charity was overwhelmed by the generosity and support from Data#3.
The money will go towards the purchase of new digital radio equipment and the set-up of the new Radio Lollipop studio in the Queensland Children’s Hospital, due to open in 2014.
Data#3 group general manager, Laurence Baynham, said that the company had a long history of engaging with and supporting charitable organisations within the Australian community.
“Over a 10-year period, our Charity Golf Day has raised significant funds which have been donated to organisations across the country," he said.
"The success of our yearly charity event is evident in the commitment and support from the Data#3 team and our vendor partners in consistently achieving our fundraising goals year on year."
