Computer Associates Australia has a new managing director, John Ruthven, who has been promoted to the post from his previous role as manager of CA's southern region branch.
Ruthven replaces Allan Smith, who has moved to the US to take up the position of senior vice president at CA on the west coast.
According to Ruthven, CA has achieved record second-quarter results in Australia, buoyed in part by record channel revenues.
CA reported a number of significant wins over the second quarter including the ANZ Bank -- which adopted Unicenter TNG as a whole of bank systems management tool -- and Telstra which signed a mainframe enterprise licence agreement with CA.
CA also sold Unicenter TNG to Pasminco, ACI Glass and Adelaide Bank.
Meanwhile CA continued to grow its services capability, with the acquisition of global services provider Realogic, officials said.
Ruthven said an announcement regarding another acquisition on the services side of the business would be made soon.
