HDS updates its private Cloud services

Cloud technology vendor tweaks its product portfolio to optimise its virtualised Cloud infrastructure

Hitachi Data Systems Corporation (HDS) has added enhancements to its private Cloud services and portfolio.

Cloud Automation Suite has been incorporated into HDS’ private Cloud offering, enabling service automation and complementing the vendor’s Unified Compute Platform (UCP) Pro and UCP Select for VMware vSphere.

HDS’s Cloud based mobile file sync and share product, Hitachi Content Platform Anywhere, now also comes with Android support alongside the existing iOS compatibility.

Hitachi Data Systems solutions and Cloud vice-president, Miki Sandorfi, said the new features are designed to help organisations get more from their private Cloud infrastructure.

“Customers need fast access to applications to drive revenue, security for their valuable intellectual property, and cost-effective services,” he said.

Open options

Sandorfi adds that HDS’ private Cloud technology has been updated to be further virtualised, responsive, and secure, as well as remaining open and affordable.

“Our private Clouds do all of this without obligation or compromise via an open architecture that’s flexible and lets our customers choose how they approach the Cloud,” he said.

Another key addition HDS has made is to Hitachi Data Ingestor, its onramp solution for the private Cloud.

The product has been enhanced with roaming home directories to provide remote offices and Cloud service providers with DARE (data at rest) encryption.
