Telstra up for top industry award

Telstra named as finalist in the Australian Institute of Project Management Awards.

Telstra is in the running for the top gong at the Australian Institute of Project Management Awards to be held in Perth tomorrow.

Over the past two months, the Australian Institute of Project management (AIPM) announced the achievement award winners for each, with Telstra among them.

Winners of all the individual categories have now been elevated as finalists to the national competition.

Awards include Project of the Year, awards by industry sector including ITC / Telecommunications and change management, and at an individual level include Program/Project Director of the Year, Project Manager of the Year and Team Member of the Year.

Project of the Year finalists include Telstra and Qantas, Sitzler, Sinclair Knight Merz, Point Project Management and the Department of Defence, the Department Of Transport, Plan2execute, Health Workforce Australia and Hazell Bros.

Finalists for the ITC / Telecommunications Project Management Achievement Award include Mater Health Services, Telstra and the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and the Arts. For the Change Management Awards, finalists include P2E, Hazell Bros, Australian Customs and Border Protection, CBH and Telstra.

Finalists for the Program/Project Director of the Year includes individuals who were involved in the QLD Reconstruction Authority Project, including several individuals from organisations such as John Holland, Department of Transport and NSW Public Works, with team members from Point Project Management and Arup in the running for Team Member of the Year.

National PMAA Winners will be announced during the Gala Dinner at AIPM’s National Conference on October 15 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
