The channel will play a bigger role in NCR's sales strategy going forward, following the release last week of its Teradata data warehousing solution for Windows NT.
NCR used its partner conference here to announce a shift in sales strategy to a hybrid model that uses the channel in conjunction with its own direct sales force.
Due to be rolled out worldwide over coming months, the new model will see NCR partnering with systems integrators, consultants, non-NCR Windows NT platform vendors and application channels, according to officials.
NCR has so far signed with a number of worldwide channel partners including Bull.
NCR is also expected to formalise sales alliances with PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Sapient, among others, later this month.
