IBM Global Services will this week introduce its recovery support services for businesses, which help protect mission-critical Internet-based applications from infrastructure outages.
The Business Recovery Services unit of IBM Global Services will unveil five offerings designed to help businesses understand the appropriate level of protection as well as develop the procedures to perform a recovery process.
The portfolio includes: Business Recovery Consulting, which is the initial service performed with the customer to establish a strategy and detailed plan for recovery; Internet Access and Traffic Redirection, which involves working with customers to make sure traffic gets redirected to a recovery site during an outage; Rapid Recovery, which provides a range of solutions that can help a customer in minutes or several days with a recovery, depending on the level of service chosen; and Operational Support Services, in which IBM completes tasks at the IBM Recovery Centre that would normally be done by the customers, such as testing of a recovery system.
The services are available now in the US and pricing starts at $US2000 per month, depending on platform and applications. However, the consulting services involve a one-time fee, which was not yet available.
