McAfee will sponsor popular made-for-kids slime event, Nickelodeon’s Slimefest 2013, to further spread the message of cyber safety.
Beyond the sponsorship, cyber educational content will be accessible through the Nickelodeon website and educational television commercials will run across the Nickelodeon network.
McAfee Asia Pacific marketing vice-president, Jacqui Donovan, said the commercials cover the issues kids face online today, as well as offer simple advice on how kids can stay safe online.
“We’re really excited to deliver a new element to our cyber education program through our partnership with popular kids event, Nickelodeon’s Slimefest 2013,” she said.
“It’s an opportunity to extend our reach and speak directly to a kid audience, who we know from our research, are more active online then ever before.”
Nickelodeon’s Slimefest 2013 will take place on September 27 at Sydney Olympic Park.
The partnership for Slimefest 2013 is a continuation of the security vendor’s push to educate Australian children about cyber safety and security, as well as responsible online behaviour.
Earlier this year, McAfee partnered with Life Education Australia to develop the bCyberwise education module for middle primary school students.
