Specialist distributor Tecksel has created a new Web site designed to make life a bit easier for its resellers. The range of new features allows resellers to view their account status, set up scheduled or customised price lists, categorise and price products, and access further information.
Resellers now have the ability to view orders and statements online, check product availability and pricing, and track orders through to collection. They can also view products by category or vendor.
"It makes it easier for our customers because they can access the site whenever they want information instead of having to make a phone call during business hours," said Niels Kofahl, Tecksel's managing director.
"With all the products already contained in a spreadsheet, all the reseller needs to do is add a formula to create a price list they can give to customers."
Approximately 1,200 resellers, consultants, small-scale systems integrators and retailers use the site. Early feedback has been positive, according to Kofahl, who said the online ordering system is still being developed.
He said Tecksel will remain a specialist distributor of networking and communications products, stressing that the Web site was not part of a plan to branch out and become broad-based.
