Wendy Hamson has been named channel services director for the Attachmate Group in Australia.
In the role, she will be overseeing the agreements with channel partners of the NetIQ, Novell, SUSE and Attachmate business units.
Hamson comes into the role from SoPac Solutions, a Microsoft Sharepoint solutions specialist, where she worked as the operations and projects manager.
While the enterprise software vendor has some good partner relationships, Hamson admits there are other relationships that need to be rebuilt, particularly in the wake of the acquisition of Novell in 2011.
“There are some great opportunities for NetIQ, Novell and SUSE in Australia, and I’m keen to help our teams maximise those with the help of a strong and effective network of partners,” she said.
Back in the fold
Before working at SoPac Solutions, Hamson was with The Attachmate Group in a senior sales position.
NetIQ, Novell, Attachmate and SUSE APAC vice-president and general manager, Boris Ivancic, said this experience means Hamson understands the vendor’s business
“Having a solid network of channel partners that not only understand our products and solutions but can implement them successfully for our customers is very important to us,” he said.
“She understands why it’s so important to have a strong channel behind us, so I’m delighted to have her back on the team.”
