IT distributor, Impact Systems, has launched a new website after implementing an SAP-based ERP system.
Impact managing director, Peter Agamalis, said the revamped site is more user friendly and gives resellers the opportunity to order online, check their invoices and warranty details.
“While it’s still fairly basic at this point in time, we will be enhancing it with different modules to maximise a reseller’s experience when they’re working with us,” Agamalis said. “During the years, the website hasn’t been as autonomous, but now that it’s linked with SAP, it makes the whole online ordering process quicker and effective.”
Agamalis said it looked at a number of options before deciding to go with SAP and spent about a month testing the new site before making it live.
“SAP provided flexible integration with the website and provided an easy reporting tool for external and internal purposes, providing certain dashboards for us to monitor and measure business throughput,” he said.
Agamalis said the new website was a work in progress and is still adding more products to the site.
Resellers can currently get access to a whole range of products including Impact servers, Lenovo notebooks, Armaggeddon gaming products, Socomec and Impact custom-built PCs.
Even though its a contracting space, Agamalis said there was still a market for custom-built PCs.
“We’re a just-in-time manufacturer and it gives us the ability to go to market with a certain product and price point that can’t always be matched by multinational vendors,” he said.
“Since we’ve got our own components and stock, we’re able to churn around and service customers within hours or the next business day and we’ve got a 24/7 support operation too.”
