Leading distributor, Ingram Micro, has announced launched its new Trend Micro Security Pass training and certification program.
In a statement, Ingram said with the move to virtualisation, Cloud, mobile and BYOD, security is increasingly challenging, not just for the enterprise, but for channel partners responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining security solutions for their customers.
But with these challenges comes opportunity. Globally the security market grew by 7.9 per cent in 2012, according to Gartner, and research from IDC suggests that growth in the SMB security market is expected to be double that of the overall market.
The company said to help resellers take advantage of the growing demand for security solutions, and stay abreast of the evolving security challenges, Ingram Micro and Trend Micro have created the Trend Micro Security Pass training and certification program.
Ingram Micro’s Trend Micro Security Pass program focuses on Trend Micro’s Deep Security the world’s leading security protection solution for physical, virtual, and Cloud servers.
Deep Security provides a single platform for server security that protects physical, virtual, and Cloud servers as well as hypervisors and virtual desktops.
Tightly integrated modules offer in-depth defences, including anti-malware, web reputation, integrity monitoring, intrusion detection and prevention, firewall, and log inspection.
Ingram Micro senior business manager enterprise software and Cloud services , Lee Welch, said the program combined all the necessary ingredients to help resellers take advantage of the growing demand for security solutions.
“The program is designed to make it easy for resellers to get up to speed with the products, uncover opportunities, and increase their sales pipeline,” Welch said. “Deep security is a fantastic suite for customers who need to protect a wide range of servers – from physical to virtualised [it works natively with VMware®, Microsoft® HyperV and Citrix® Xenserver] – it provides sophisticated defence-in-depth, and reduces administration overheads,” Welch says.
Trend Micro managing director, Sanjay Mehta, said, in a statement, the Security Pass program provides resellers with a wide range of benefits including special pricing, not-for-resale (NFR) licenses, credit towards Trend Micro’s AffinityOne partner certification, and a range of incentives for completing the program.
“This is a well-designed program. It’s easy to do – participants can complete the program online, in their own time. It delivers all the necessary ingredients to ensure resellers that complete the program are really able to take advantage of opportunities in the market – and leverage the support of the Ingram Micro and Trend Micro teams to help them do that,” Mehta said.
