Perth-based whitebox builder, reseller and service integrator, Provida IT, is seeking to broaden its horizons by pitching its network and support services to companies in the eastern states.
Managing director, Brian Williams, said the WA market was such that it was necessary to appeal to companies based interstate.
"In WA, companies with more than 50 users already have their own IT manager," managing director, Brian Williams, said. "So we are fishing for companies in the eastern states that might need to service a client or branch office in Perth but don't necessarily want to put an engineer on the ground here to look after it."
He said Provida was looking to increase its reseller portfolio, which includes HP PCs and printers, Xerox printers and McAfee anti-virus software. It would also aim to grow its networking and support business.
"If you can partner with somebody who does accounting software, for example, it will give you leads and get you into more markets for the hardware too," Williams said. "McAfee is already very good at getting us into other sites."
Although in the early stages of its search, Provida IT has already opened discussions with a CRM vendor to resell its software. It currently services 70 corporate clients of varying size in WA.
Provida IT was formed three years ago when Williams broke away from WA-based technology group, Comdek.
He had been running its networking division. Comdek appointed administrators in February.
