The deal will see a select range of SOL Republic headphones available both in Dick Smith's bricks and mortar stores, and online through the company's Web site.

Dick Smith, which former owner Woolworths sold to private equity group Anehorage Capital Partners for $20 million last year, will sell the Tracks on-ear headphones, the Jax in-Ear headphones, and Amps and AmpsHD in ear headphones, among others.

SOL Republic's chief marketing officer, Seth Combs, said Dick Smith is an "iconic Australian brand."

"Since we founded SOL Republic, our goal has always been to bring great sound to the masses and this partnership with Dick Smith will allow us to extend our reach into the market."

"Whether you prefer an in-ear, on-ear or over-ear headphone, SOL Republic has options tailored to suit all music lovers. It’s great to be working with such an iconic Australian brand."

The SOL Republic Tracks on-ear headphones start from $129 and include a limited edition variant endorsed by Deadmau5, while the Jax in-ear headphones start at $49.99.

The Amps and AmpsHD in-ear headphones are priced from $79.99 and $129, respectively.

The addition of SOL Republic means Dick Smith now stocks a number of the most popular headphone brands on the market including Beats by Dr. Dre, Logitech UE, Sennheiser, and Skullcandy.
