IronPort Systems Achieves Leadership Position in META Group’s E-Mail Hygiene Vendor Comparison
- 13 December, 2004 09:39

IronPort Systems(TM), the market share leader in email security, has announced that IronPort has been listed among the leaders in META Group's recently published ‘E-Mail Hygiene Vendor Comparison’ report. IronPort received high marks for Spam Blocking, Virus Blocking and MTA/Anomaly Detection.

In the META Group report, author Matt Cain takes an in-depth look at the dynamic email security market. The report explains some of the more salient points for evaluating email security vendors, including a comparative table of a dozen of the leading vendors, as well as the results of an extensive vendor survey broken up into three major categories: corporate comparisons, product functionality and platform specifics.

"This is an incredibly crowded and dynamic marketplace. Until the vendor landscape becomes less populated, it is critical for users to have credible and independent resources to help evaluate each vendor's vision, corporate strength and product functionality," said Tom Gillis, Senior Vice President Worldwide Marketing for IronPort. "We couldn't be more pleased to have been included in this report and awarded a perfect score for Spam Blocking, Virus Blocking and MTA/Anomaly Detection – three of the most critical components of an email security product."
"Through 2006, special attention will be focused on spam blocking and policy enforcement," noted Matt Cain, META Group. "Given increasing threats, users must upgrade their mail hygiene capabilities. A thorough evaluation of mail hygiene vendors – with a focus on matching business needs with supplier competencies – is critical to providing maximum email protection and functionality."
