Due to overwhelming requests for an extension and continued high interest in nominating, the 2013 ARN ICT Awards nominations deadline has been officially extended until close of business on July 19 – great news for the time-crunched and the last-minute nominators.
To recap, the nominations page on the website opened for business on June 12. Since then, nominations have been rolling in but, as usual, there's a log jam of last-minute nominations.
And we want everybody to nominate and be in with a chance of winning one of the prestigious awards. Hence the extension. But a word of warning: the extensions will close on July 19. That will be it.
The ARN ICT Awards recognise and celebrate channel excellence over the past year. To be hosted at the black tie Celebration Dinner on Wednesday, September 18, at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney, the 2013 awards theme is A night of stars - celebrating a year of stars, aptly named for the myriad of channel champions, talented professionals and high-achieving technology companies making a difference in the ICT industry.
This year, there are 29 awards across seven categories including: community; personal innovation; vendor; distributor; reseller; telecommunications; and homegrown innovators.
Each category has, on average, four questions as part of the award criteria. Have a crack and put your best foot forward in answering the criteria, but limit your responses per question to a maximum of 250 words.
The personal touch
One award category of special interest to ARN is the Personal Innovation category. An overwhelmingly popular category each year, it has four gongs up for grabs including: Customer Service; Sales Excellence; Technical Excellence; and Management Excellence.
The category is all about individuals who go beyond the call of duty in their day-to-day professional lives.
Nominations for the Customer Service award should outline you or your colleague’s innovative services skills, positive can-do attitude and responsiveness, higher-than-average customer retention ratio, and stellar customer knowledge. Individuals can come from a vendor, distributor or reseller organisation.
The Sales Excellence award is open to individuals from the vendor, distributor or reseller community and aims to promote an outstanding sales job in the past 12 months. Examples of success could include an ability to grow revenue, closing a significant or highly competitive deal, and customer and market responsiveness. Judges will also be keen to hear about how this individual has promoted value-based sales.
The Technical Excellence award shines the spotlight on one individual’s achievements around developing and managing technical solution sets, which contributed to their organisation’s prosperity. Judges will be looking for examples of technical knowledge, communication, commitment to training, and attitude.
The Management Excellence award recognises senior managers from the vendor, distributor or reseller community who have an outstanding track record in managing successful teams and/or organisations in the past 12 months. Examples could include leading a sales or marketing team to produce above target results, managing a team of customer service or technical professionals, growing a business through developing new product lines or through acquisition, managing teams /organisations who are independently rated as excellent working environments. Judges will be keen to hear about how this individual has come up through the organisation or industry.
These and many other awards are up for grabs.
On behalf of the editorial team, good luck and perhaps we’ll see you on the podium at the Celebration Dinner on September 18.
