BT Appoints Non-executive Chairmen for Asia-Pacific

<p>BT today announced the appointment of Paul Lewis and Arun Seth to the positions of non-executive chairmen for BT Australasia and BT India, respectively.</p>
<p>In these roles, Paul and Arun are responsible for advising BT in their respective markets on a range of topics, offering an independent and broad view to the company and its management on strategic and tactical decisions. The roles also involve reviewing, monitoring and offering inputs on detailed plans and budgets.</p>
<p>Graham Moore, president, BT in Asia Pacific, said: “These are new and critical roles for our company as we continue to expand our business in key markets. In addition to acting as advisors, Paul and Arun will also play key roles in growing BT’s business by building relationships at board level with major local companies and subsidiaries of large multisite corporations operating in those markets.”</p>
<p>Paul Lewis is currently a member of PA Consulting’s global management group. Following 12 years as head of Asia based in Hong Kong, he is now based in Australia. Following 20 years in senior roles with Mobil Oil Corporation in Europe and with ICL in Australia, he joined PA Australia in 1985. Over the years, he has initiated and substantially expanded the IT consulting capability and acted as relationship manager to large accounts such as Telstra, and counselled on operations in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore.
He is also a member of BT’s Asia Pacific Advisory Board, a group established earlier this year.</p>
<p>Arun Seth has worked for BT in a variety of positions over the past 10 years, having set up the BT India office in 1995 as the first country manager. Based in New Delhi, his responsibilities include driving the IT and BPO activities of BT Group in India, across all lines of businesses, as well as leading BT’s efforts in corporate and social responsibility in India with its projects in Katha and other initiatives.</p>
<p>He is on the Executive Committee of NASSCOM (India’s leading Industry Association for IT and BPO) and has chaired the BPO Forum for NASSCOM from its inception in 2002. He also sits on the IT / Telecom Committees of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce of India (FICCI) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Both Paul and Arun report to the president of Asia Pacific.</p>
