KAZ bags Arthur Andersen deal

ASX-listed IT outsourcing company KAZ Computer Services has signed a three-year deal with business consultants Arthur Andersen. The arrangement will see KAZ providing property management accounting services for Arthur Andersen client Colliers Jardine.

The deal will facilitate the centralisation of Colliers Jardine's five state-based databases. While Arthur Andersen has been contracted to manage the databases, KAZ is set to house and support the associated IT infrastructure.

KAZ state manager for Victoria Graham Reeve explained the deal will allow Arthur Andersen to manage its client relationship, whilst providing high-level IT support.

"The application is purely developed for property management accounting, and we intend to continue to develop this kind of relationship with Arthur Andersen," Reeve said.

Reeve believes the nature of the service provided through this latest deal will prove popular in Australia and throughout the region.

"There are many people in the IT market place that have high-end requirements but are unable to afford high-end solutions," Reeve said. "Through our outsourcing products we are able to provide such solutions even to smaller players and provide economies of scale pricing."

KAZ is also touting this latest contract as proof that Australian companies can compete on service provision with large multinational companies.

"This deal proves that Australian companies, and Australian developed technologies can compete with the multinationals," Reeve said.
