Adelaide-based distributors Hitech Distribution have received a resoundingly positive response to its South East Reseller Expo. With the participation of 14 vendors, the Hitech Distribution-hosted event attracted resellers from Mt Gambier and surrounding towns to an information evening which showcased a range of hardware and peripherals. Representatives from Intel, Acer, Alloy, Epson, Invensys and Verbatim were on hand to provide product information and sales support.
Charmaine Dangerfield, owner proprietor of Comp-U-Lern Millicent, was among the resellers who signed up for the reseller information evening. She described the event as a success, saying it was a fantastic opportunity to talk with the vendors and see what kinds of products were becoming available.
"We don't get much of a chance to talk to the vendors, they don't make it out here very often," Dangerfield said.
Hitech Distribution sales manager John Winter said both the reseller evening and the end-user day, which was hosted the following day, would continue to stimulate the local market long into the future.
"The show has already started to generate sales, and I believe it will continue to drive a lot of sales in the IT market in this region." Winter said.
Participating vendors were equally enthusiastic about the response. Wayne Birrell, Intel channel account manager for WA and SA, said the expo was very successful and that he had received positive feedback from resellers from the Mt Gambier region.
"Intel is very committed to this event, we were very happy to take part and pleased to see the quality of the speakers the other vendors sent along," Birrell said. "Intel is already committed to participating with Hitech Distribution in similar events in coming years."
