Express Data has been named as Computer Associates' distributor of the year at a function during the software vendor's annual CA World conference in Orlando, Florida.
The award - one of four designed to recognise success in product sales and development among CA partners - was accepted by a triumphant Christian Navarrete, Computer Associates' product manager for Express Data at a ceremony following the CA Channel Management Symposium.
Navarrete said that the award clearly recognised the level of commitment Express Data provides for its vendor partners.
"This award reflects a team effort and recognises the dedication and hard work that everyone at Express Data has put in with taking the Computer Associates productrange to the Australian reseller market," Navarrete said.
Avril Singh, channel sales operations manager at CA said the award was the culmination of a six year partnership.
"The award really recognises Express Data's unique offering in terms of both sales and technical support, as well as their legendary customer service," Singh said.
Harris Technology took out an award for fastest growing partner in Australia and New Zealand with Singh accepting the award, on behalf of the Coles-Myer company.
Other winners included, ProjectLab who took a medal for innovator of the year, and New Zealand-based Internet integrator Gen-i who took out reseller of the year, beating off some substantial Australian competition.
The ceremony concluded a day of briefings by CA channel executives and industry analysts titled the CA Channel Management Symposium. The symposium was designed to clarify CA's channel strategy and provide channel partners with some insight into developments in IT markets over the year ahead.
