Lock up your interns. Break out the Cuban cigars. Manicure those tees, fairways and greens. The big Billster is coming to our shores.
That's right, America's most popular good ol' boy since "Stonewall" Jackson - former US president, Bill Clinton - will be the keynote speaker at World Congress on IT 2002, to be held in Adelaide from February 27 to March 1 next year.
The AIIA-hosted WCIT 2002 will see Clinton present to in excess of 1800 "high-calibre and prominent leaders from the IT industry" according to a press statement.
While the AIIA and WCIT 2002 gets Clinton, South Australian taxpayers get the bill, according to recent media reports . Apparently, the ex-US president will earn a $500,000 appearance fee, a tab to be picked up by the SA State Government, who are throwing in a further $800,000 for other expenses generated by the event.
