Network management company, Peribit, has announced a new partnership with storage provider, XSI Data Solutions.
Under the contract, Peribit will ship its network appliances, including the newly launched small business SR-15 Sequence Reducer, as part of XSI's storage solutions.
XSI joins the vendor's existing regional VARs - Allied, Global Net and Net Solutions - as well as new global partner, Sita.
UK-based Peribit director of strategic alliances, Steve Wastie, said the company wanted to sign up a small number of VARs.
"What we didn't want to do is go down the broad distribution route and introduce channel conflict," he said. "Dealers get margin from resell of the devices, they get margin from reselling our support services and, more importantly, they are adding their own services around it such as deployment and configuration support. The likes of XSI can integrate Veritas with Peribit and provide a real value-added solution."
The vendor already boasts of partnership agreements with Veritas and Network Appliances. More announcements were expected during December, Wastie said.
Peribit had experienced strong growth in the region since its launch 12 months ago, gaining about 70 customers through its 95 per cent channel sales model, he said.
