Melbourne-based distributor, Synnex, has appointed two notebook specialists from within its ranks to support resellers involved with HP and Lenovo lines.
The reps will assist resellers with end-user training, sales pitches and customer queries, Synnex national sales manager, Arthur Gimisis, said. The appointments were designed to help grow the distributor's sales with corporate resellers.
"For HP and Lenovo notebooks, the commercial market is very different and resellers need a little hand holding in the space," he said.
Peta Beaumont will be in charge of HP notebooks. She joined the Synnex team last year. The name of the Lenovo specialist has not been disclosed.
Gimisis said it would look at appointing additional HP and Lenovo notebook specialists in other states.
The move is part of the distributor's ongoing efforts to transition from its components heritage towards more focused market segments.
"We have internally restructured our sales department into three businesses - our traditional OEM business, national retail and government/corporate market across all products," Gimisis said.
The distributor planned to expand its specialist model into other product segments including printers, networking and communications.
