Financials application service provider (ASP) Quantum Internet (Qi) has received a vote of confidence from e-business systems management software vendor BMC Software after it was awarded BMC's first OnSite Certification in Australia yesterday [subbed].
BMC's Australian country manager, Charles Rance, claims Qi was awarded the certification based on its record of customer service and ability to maintain the delivery, performance and availability of its applications based on BMC's software infrastructure.
In turn, Qi will be able to leverage the certification when approaching new customers with the assurance that service level agreements will be met, Stephen Moss, Qi CEO and managing director, said at the signing of the certification in Sydney.
"The ASP model in Australia has gone from optimism to pragmatism. BMC brings a whole new level of strength to us and gives our customers the confidence that we know what we are doing," Moss said.
Qi hosts a number of applications in the finance, health and insurance sectors targeting the mid- to high-end of the enterprise market. As well as Web and enterprise hosting, Qi offers human resources and payroll applications, Web site billing systems, payment gateways and telco services. These are services that allow non-telco companies to offer their customers services such as Internet access, email and secure Intranets. It is a founding member of the Australian branch of the ASP Industry Consortium.
In addition to using BMC as its ASP software platform and monitoring tool, Moss claims the company will be able to take a "customer view" of how the application is being run in order to accurately measure the quality of service being delivered.
BMC launched its OnSite certification program in October last year and has signed up a number of ASPs and managed service providers worldwide.
