HN and Acer finalise deal

Acer has got the nod of approval to join Harvey Norman and is expected to be a top 10 supplier, it was revealed yesterday.

John Slack-Smith, general manager for the computer retailer, said: "They have excellent product and are a natural choice."

The deal was finalised recently after several meetings and follows Compaq's exit from the retailer's shelves.

The computer division of Harvey Norman turned over $566 million last financial year, so for Acer the deal promises rich pickings.
