D-Link has launched a three-in-one digital camera combining still photography with a digital video camera and a PC digital Web camera.
The DSC-100 supports up to 352 x 288 resolution, as well as 24 million colours at 30 frames per second.
No video capture cards or additional hardware are necessary - the device attaches via a standard USB type A connector. Still images are saved in jpg format while video is saved in AVI or MPEG format.
The camera comes with software to upload digital photos or record video directly to the PC and is compatible with most popular video conferencing and e-mail programs.
It is distributed by Tech Pacific, Renaissance New Zealand, Page Data Products, BBF Components and Peripherals, LAN 1, Synnex, Pacific Data Com and Anixter and retails for $179.
