Victoria-based managed IT services provider, Southern Cross Computer Systems, has (SCCS) promoted Mike Sakalas as its new CEO.
Mark Kalmus and Chris Palmer will continue to work on the business in a strategic manner as executive directors.
Sakalas has more than 17 years experience in the IT industry and began working for SCCS in 2012 as its general commercial manager.
“Mike has already made an enormous impact in his role as general manager commercial and we have resounding faith that this is the appropriate time to insert new leadership at the top, and that Mike is the right individual to help us charge forward,” Palmer said. "Mark and I are still very involved in the strategy of the company moving forward, but we wanted some fresh eyes and ideas."
During the past few months, SCCS has expanded to more than 130 employees across the country with offices in NSW, Western Australia and has now added Queensland to the list.
"We're going to keep growing our managed services business, which we've had some significant wins in the past seven months, and now we'll be taking on Queensland and Perth," he said.
Palmer said there was a massive opportunity for SCCS in Queensland government sector. He also noted that the majority of its Perth business came from government and corporate clients.
