The Western Australian Department of Education has extended its relationship with IT services provider, ASG Group, by awarding it a $14.8 million contract for licences and support services intended to modernise the department’s existing investment in Oracle technology.
ASG Group is an Australian company which offers IT management, consulting services, and business intelligence (BI).
The five-year deal will be managed by ASG’s Business Solutions team, and marks the time it has provided a strategic support and licensing modernisation solution as a restructuring of an existing customer’s Oracle licences.
ASG has provided finance, human resources, and payroll managed services and project services to the Department since 2006. It is also the supplier of all Oracle licences to the Department.
“Over the years ASG has built a strong understanding of the Department’s mission critical Oracle environments,” ASG CEO, Geoff Lewis, said. “Expanding our relationship to include ASG’s Oracle Business Solutions attests to the strength of the relationship and our ability to anticipate the Department’s future needs.”
Lewis also said ASG expects the deal to generate further projects and managed services over the term, including in New World computing.
Furthermore, he said the agreement presents an opportunity to win similar contracts with other customers looking to upgrade their Oracle licencing.
This agreement is one of a number of contracts totalling $25m which ASG has concluded in recent weeks with various public and private sector customers.
ASG is close to finalising an additional $60m worth of agreements as the preferred tenderer in what it claims are exclusive negotiations.
