Affordability is the key to Kyocera's new colour laser printer, according to the vendor.
The FS-8000C features reduced colour running costs at 7.69 cents per page and is designed as a small to mid-sized workgroup printer.
It is the first full colour Ecosys laser printer from Kyocera and features options such as a three-bin stapler finisher, a 3000-page sheet stacker, a nine-bin mailbox sorter and additional paper feeders.
An optional network interface card is also available for network printing and for remote monitoring using KM-NET. The printer comes with 128MB memory, upgradable to 256MB, and a PowerPC 400MHz processor, and automatically switches between colour and monochrome modes.
An optional hard disk drive means documents can be sent to the printer's virtual mailbox and accessed through its control panel. Quick copy, proof and hold, private print and job storage functions are also available using this system.
The FS-8000C retails for $9898.90.
