Open Cloud company, Rackspace, has named Angus Dorney as its new director and general manager for Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).
Dorney replaces Mark Randall who has left to “pursue other opportunities” after seven years at the company.
In his new role, Dorney will lead Rackspace’s growth by driving uptake of its Fanatical Support, public Cloud, private Cloud, dedicated hosting and managed virtualisation offerings. He will also be overseeing the company’s new Sydney datacentre, which was opened in February.
“We are excited about Angus’ appointment as we’re gaining momentum in the region and about to extend the product offerings,” Rackspace Asia-Pacific (APAC) managing director, Ajit Melarkode, said. “I am confident that Angus’ leadership and commitment will complement the existing depth of experience and Fanatical Support that our team is well known for.”
Dorney was previously Rackspace A/NZ director of operations, a position he held since April.
Prior to joining Rackspace, he worked for Blue Star Group for over two years in several management roles. He was involved in the development and rollout of several high profile digital transformation projects across the business.
