ScienceLogic expands APAC operations

Opens office in Sydney because of the shift towards Cloud-based services

Cloud management software vendor, ScienceLogic, has expanded its Asia-Pacific (APAC) operations with a new office in Sydney following a successful 2012 which saw its international business from two to 18 per cent of total sales.

“Australia has often been cited as the most virtualised country in the world and with Amazon initiating an AWS presence there, we are seeing a substantial shift toward Cloud-based services,” ScienceLogic chief executive officer (CEO), David Link, said. “This makes it the ideal location from which to further expand our APAC business.

The local team will be led by Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) vice-president, Simon Horrocks, who has nearly 30 years’ experience in sales leadership roles across APAC and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

According to Horrocks, the local team contains individuals who bring experience to the region from companies such as IBM, HP, Cisco, and Avnet.

“This provides our customers an incredible wealth of knowledge in network, systems, and applications which will be a huge bonus as we help them gain visibility of their increasingly complex IT infrastructure,” Horrocks said.
