ASX-listed systems builder, Volante blitzed IBM's Partnerworld 2001 conference in Atlanta last week, walking away with seven awards including Asia Pacific top reseller of the year in the personal computer division, Australian reseller of the year and Australian Netfinity server reseller of the year.
Tracey Fellows, general manager IBM personal computer division, Australia and NZ, cited Volante's ability to differentiate itself from the pack as the winning element in a tough marketplace.
"Year on year, VIT continues to prove itself with a solid and loyal customer base as well as growth with substantial new business wins," said Fellows.
"A great deal of VIT's success is due to its e-commerce initiatives in servicing its customers and developing the awareness of the value it brings to organisations."
Hugh Bickerstaff, managing director of Volante went so far as to call the company's online procurement system, Customer Connect, the "cornerstone" of its success.
"We are currently implementing webMethods to integrate our customers and suppliers back-end systems into the ebusiness online trading system," he said.
"By automating the supply chain process our customers are benefiting from streamlined procurement and real time product availability. It is no coincidence that the number of our customers using Customer Connect has grown by 30 per cent over the last year."
Volante's state offices in Queensland, NSW and South Australia picked up the five remaining IBM awards for top state server resellers and top state resellers.
