OpenDaylight is a Linux Foundation Collaborative Project designed to unite industry leaders with the goal of a common and open software-defined networking (SDN) platforms for developers to use, contribute to, and build commercial products and technologies. Brocade is a founding member and platinum sponsor of the project.

As the technical leadership department of OpenDaylight, TSC oversees the integration of best of breed technology and collaboration across all projects.

“We envision the OpenDaylight Project being comprised of numerous projects, all of which will be focused on different aspects of SDN, and the TSC will be responsible for providing direction and guidance,” The Linux Foundation executive director, Jim Zemlin, said.

Zemlin also said Meyer’s industry and academia background will be particularly beneficial for OpenDaylight.
