Linksys has announced an 802.11b Wireless CompactFlash Card For Pocket PCs and Windows CE-enabled PDAs. The Instant Wireless Network CF Card (WCF11) allows users to transfer data from the network to their handheld from anywhere within a wireless LAN environment. Running at up to 11Mbps, the card roams between wireless nodes and can also be used to sync handhelds without the need for a handheld cradle or network connection. It also allows users to share data directly with other wireless PDAs. The WCF11 is compatible with Windows CE 2.1 and 3.0 and is interoperable with Wi-Fi-certified IEEE 802.11b devices. It will be available in Australia in April through Multimedia Technology, Ingram Micro and Servex Australia for an estimated street price of around $315.
