Victorian Government hands out tech vouchers

Vouchers worth up to $250,000 each

The Victorian Government has handed out Technology Implementation Vouchers, worth up to $250,000 each, to seven businesses.

The companies that are receiving a total of more than $1.6 million under the first round of the Technology Implementation Vouchers are: Micronisers, Sapien Technology, Universal Biosensors, IntelliMedical Technologies, Tasweld Engineering, ZyGEM, and Circa Group.

The Technology Voucher Program provides businesses with funding to help them connect with high-tech service providers and absorb new technologies to improve their productivity and competitiveness.

Technology minister, Gordon Rich-Phillips, said the funding will allow the companies to explore the use of industrial biotechnology, small technologies or ICT as part of the Victorian Coalition Government’s $9 million Technology Voucher Program.

“Through these vouchers, the Coalition Government is supporting businesses to collaborate with suppliers in order to develop, adapt or adopt industrial biotechnology, small technologies and advanced ICT-based innovations for new practice or new markets,” he said.

He claimed these vouchers will go a long way to support these companies’ access of facilities, goods, services advice or expertise.

Rich-Phillips said the government has established a Technology Capability and Supplier Searchable Directory In addition to the vouchers.

“The directory lists companies and organisations that can provide services to voucher applicants. It includes more than 180 Technology Voucher Program listed suppliers and enables users to easily connect applicant needs with supplier capabilities,” he added.
