Bank of NZ chooses Good Technology for mobility risk mitigation

Deploys Good for Enterprise and Good Dynamics

The Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) has deployed Good Technology’s Good for Enterprise (GFE) mobility management solution and the Good Dynamics platform to ensure secure access to collaboration and productivity applications used by staff.

BNZ employs more than 5000 people across the country and has about 1000 smartphones and tablets comprised of a mixture of bring-your-own-device (BYOD) and company-supplied devices.

“Managing risk was a key driver for implementing GFE, while also providing secure mobile productivity capability,” BNZ telecommunication services manager, Jamie O’Donnell, said. “As smartphones and app become more evolved and enabled, the potential increases for our staff to unwittingly leak corporate information that we had no auditable visibility of.”

The bank has developed its own application suites from the applications in the Good Dynamics Marketplace. That includes: Good Share for accessing shared drives; GoodReader for Good and iAnnotate for Good for viewing and editing PDF files; Smart Office for Good for viewing and editing Microsoft Office documents.

“We wanted our application suite to be reflective of the way staff are using mobile devices and their desire to be effective while out and about,” O’Donnell said.
