Commander launches Cloud Backup for SMBs

Builds on existing Cloud computing services with ‘build-your-own’ backup solution

Commander, part of the M2 Telecommunications group, has launched a new Cloud Backup product, building on its existing Cloud computing services.

Cloud Backup plans to utilise a consultative approach whereby customers can design a hosted ‘build-your-own’ Cloud solution to meet computing requirements.

The product promises secure, redundant backup with flexible storage solutions. It scales from small to medium businesses, and utilises a pay-per-use model.

According to Commander, it will allow businesses to benefit from a reduction in technology expenses, secure data that is accessible from anywhere, and platform independence to deliver a simple, integrated solution.

“We have taken a product that has traditionally been available to larger businesses, and packaged it for the SMB market where backup and data protection has become increasingly important,” M2 business and wholesale director, Scott Carter, said. “This product is suited to SMBs that are currently looking at outsourcing desktop and infrastructure backup into a world class secure facility as a form of ‘insurance’.”

Cloud Backup plans start at 10GB per month, and range up to 500GB. Commander said it “intends to offer 30 day free trials on a range of selected plans.”
