Wireless networking equipment distributor Integrity Data Systems has appointed a former Silicon Valley veteran and ballet dancer as its channel manager for the Eastern region.
Lisa Curiel - formerly of Santa Clara, California - has been charged by the Adelaide-based distributor to build its East Coast sales. Curiel has spent 15 years in the IT industry before joining Integrity with stints at Digital Equipment, Compaq and most recently four years with IBM-acquired database developer Informix.
Tony Tilbrook, Integrity's former Eastern region channel manager has moved into more of a strategic role says Ross Chiswell, CEO of Integrity. Tilbrook has been appointed strategic account manager and will concentrate on building the distributor's business with telcos and service providers he adds.
In her new role Curiel is conscious she is going to have to draw on the quick step and determination gained from her parallel career as a principal ballet dancer for eight years in San Francisco.
"You need to be in synergy with people in business just the same as in dance. Without balance, trust and good rapport, someone is likely to trip up," she said.
Curiel is looking to build channel sales for the distributor's range of wireless products from Agere Systems, Avaya Communication, Colubris Networks, LightPointe, Lucent Technologies, SpectraLink and Western Multiplex.
