Ingram Micro has entered into a supply agreement with “mobile power-on-the-go” and mobile accessory product marketing specialist, SeeChange Distribution.
Under the terms of the agreement, Ingram Micro will distribute a range of products from mophie, an award-winning manufacturer of mobile power solutions and mobile accessories.
mophie manufactures a wide range of battery cases for the iPhone (including the iPhone 5), and the Samsung Galaxy SIII and the OutRide - an iPhone 4/4S compatible waterproof action sports case that allows users to “shoot and share” high quality action videos and photos easily.
mophie also manufactures the mophie powerstandTM iPad stand and a range of external batteries for smartphones, tablets and other USB chargeable devices.
Ingram Micro senior director Volume Technology Group, Julian Phua, said growth in the smartphone, tablet and mobile computing market had created strong demand for power solutions and mobile accessories that enabled customers to get more from their mobile devices.
“Internationally, mophie is a well-known vendor, with a range of beautifully designed mobile power and smartphone accessories for Apple iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad devices as well as external power solutions for Android smartphones and tablets. We’re delighted to add mophie’s products to the wide range of mobile and Apple compatible accessories we offer through our reseller partners,” he said.
SeeChange managing director, Joe Caccioppoli, said consumers are becoming more and more dependent on their mobile devices and increasingly need mobile power-on-the-go solutions wherever they are.
“mophie was the original inventor of the battery case and has just launched the first iPhone 5 compatible battery case - the mophie juice pack helium,” Caccioppoli said.
He said mophie’s new sports action case, the OutRide (with an interchangeable waterproof back providing underwater operation down to five metres), turned an iPhone 4 or 4S into a wide-angle action sports camera.
Caccioppoli said SeeChange will work with Ingram Micro’s retail and reseller partners to promote the broader mobile power category and showcase the range of mophie products and accessories available to consumers and business users.
The new agreement takes effect immediately and Ingram Micro has stock available in its warehouse already, Phua said.
