Business management developer SWAN and hardware vendor Sun Microsystems are striking out into network management. This follows an Asia-Pacific alliance to develop and market hardware and software solutions.
As part of the agreement, Sun will integrate SWAN's application and systems management solution, Vision64, into its hardware and software products.
"Vision64's unparalleled performance in deployment and management, as well as its guarantee of application availability across the network, will considerably strengthen Sun's network computing solutions," said Gabriel Chan, director of application provider partner sales for Sun Microsystems Asia Pacific.
"This partnership will now enable Sun to offer a complete package to organisations, aiming to streamline processes and raise productivity."
"With SWAN's multicast functionality, we'll also be providing a unique and powerful answer for ASP (application service provider) and ISP (Internet service provider) solutions, enabling high-speed content delivery and subsequent integrity to thousands of non-permanently connected systems," Chan added.
The alliance will significantly boost Vision64's profile in the rapidly expanding Asia-Pacific market, with Sun's customer base having close resemblance to SWAN's.
