Tools vendor IT Factory has developed a new development environment for independent software vendors (ISVs) and end users that wish to create applications around the Microsoft Exchange platform.
Traditionally a tools vendor for the Lotus Domino platform, IT Factory launched its new product, ITF Development Centre for Microsoft, at Microsoft's Tech Ed conference in Atlanta last week. It also released a new version of its Domino tool (ITF Tools Suite for Lotus) at Lotus' development conference in Las Vegas.
IT Factory began as a tools vendor that capitalised on the lack of structured methodology for developing an application on the Lotus platform. It markets both a standard tool-set for object-orientated development on Domino, as well as a pre-defined architecture that adds template-driven workflow to the development process, so the developer only needs to add business logic to be up and running.
Its Australian operations began with two sales and marketing staff, and grew to more than 20 when it acquired Australian Domino consulting house Credenza.
