Novonyx, the Novell and Netscape conglomerate, will announce its first product launch later this month.
Netscape's Enterprise Server 3.0 and Fast Track Server for the Novell IntranetWare platform are expected to be the first products to ship this quarter.
Novonyx also will likely include Messaging Server in its first round of SuiteSpot products for IntranetWare, sources said.
William Donahoo, Novonyx vice president of marketing, said the company will be offering "whatever is the most current version of Netscape's Enterprise Server" ported to IntranetWare.
Donahoo also said Novonyx will support Novell Directory Services (NDS) but will seek to maintain Netscape's support of LDAP (Light-weight Directory Access Protocol), via an LDAP interface.
Although Novell users may be pleased, it remains to be seen how Novell executives will respond once products are released because they will be in direct competition with the company's GroupWise offering.
