Sanyo DCTS780

Sanyo's DCTS780 - a 300-watt DVD home theatre system - includes five speakers for Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 sound, three for forward sound and two speakers on stands. The DCT780 offers multi-formats with a DVD drive that can support various disc compatibility formats such as DVD, DVD-R, VCD, CD, CD-R CD-RW, MP3, JPG (Kodak Picture CD). It can read almost any media stored on a DVD or CD format. To enhance image quality, it has incorporated technology that continually monitors and cleans the quality of your playback. The integrated Progressive Scan function with NTSC discs smooths out flickers and refreshing lines, ensuring a viewing experience uninterrupted by screen jumps or image freezes. The DCTS780 also comes with S-Video, component and composite inputs, two AUX in ports, a 52-key remote control, AM/FM tuner with 36 Station Presets and various convenient functions such as a screen saver, last played memory and angle replay. ViewSonic N3200w

ViewSonic has launched its largest, High Definition (HD) ready LCD TV, the NextVision N3200w. It offers an integrated tuner and 24-watt audio system with subwoofer output for high-fidelity sound, according to the company. Compatible with analog and digital PC or Mac systems, the display also offers component composite and multiple S-video input connections, as well as digital DVI with high-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. Full picture-in-picture and split-screen functionality allow viewers to preview two video inputs simultaneously. Each display comes with a remote control and can be attached to a wall with an optional mounting kit. The LCD TV features 3:2 reverse pull-down support, 3D comb filter and motion adaptive video de-interlacing technology that achieves front-of-screen performance for progressive screen images. It also has high brightness LCD panel, 1280 x 768 resolution, 600:1 contrast ratio, as well as a 170-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angle. Nova-T/MCE

New Magic Australia and Hauppauge Digital have launched the Nova-T/MCE, a PCI Digital TV receiver for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. The Hauppauge-NOVA-T/MCE is a digital TV receiver for use in areas around the world where DVB-T is the format used for transmitting digital television. In areas where DVB-T is transmitted and supported by Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005, the Hauppauge-NOVA-T/MCE can receive over-the-air digital transmissions and offer similar capabilities to those of the analogue Hauppauge-PVR products for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Up to two Hauppauge-PVR-150/250MCE's can be installed in a Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 system at a time, bringing the ability to watch one channel while recording another channel. The Hauppauge-PVR-150/250MCE also has audio/video inputs to connect to set top boxes such as satellite receivers and cable TV boxes. BenQ DV2680

BenQ has launched 26-inch and 30-inch LCD TVs. The range of LCD televisions are embedded with Sense-Eye Digital Enhancement Technology, which was developed to fully-digitise image processing. This integrates high-definition digital-imaging technology and visual-sense calibration technology. BenQ's Sense-Eye technology intensifies colour to make images true-to-life and enhances the contrast to perform optimistic 3D capacity. The DV2680 and DV3080 use a colour separation system that adjusts red, green, blue and yellow separately. The new BenQ TV series - such as the 15-inch and 20-inch models before them - are compatible with HDTV and can receive 480p, 576p, 720p and 1080i HDTV digital signals to display high-definition TV images. Both the DV2680 and the DV3080 boast a 600:1 contrast ratio. The DV3080 features woofers on top of the standard building surround sound. The products are distributed in Australia by Tech Pacific. Pinnacle ShowCenter

Pinnacle is offering the ShowCenter, a Media Client for networking a home entertainment system and TV to a PC. It allows users to play back multimedia files such as digital videos, digital still photos, audio files, Internet radio and schedule recording of TV with Pinnacle's PCTV tuner, which is sold separately. Users can connect the ShowCenter to the TV and home entertainment system and play video, image and audio files to the lounge room using a remote control. Platforms supported include Windows XP, 2000. Supported file formats include MP3, PCM (all incompatible audio files will be converted to MP3 at 128kbps); MPEG-1, MPEG-2, DivX AVI, Xvid AVI (all incompatible video files will be converted to a ShowCenter compatible format as set by the user); JPEG, BMP, PNG and GIF files are converted; and video standards for audio-visual outputs including PAL 25fps full D1 720 x 576 interlaced and NTSC 29.97fps full DV 720 x 480 interlaced. Dvico TViX

Dvico is offering a standalone AV and multimedia player that uses a standard I DE hard disk to store backed up DVD videos, images and audio files for playing back to the TV or home entertainment system. ViX is perfect as a DVD jukebox, music tank, photo album and even as portable storage, as it does not need to be connected to a PC for operation. DVDs backed up to the PC can be transferred via a USB connection to the TViX and played back exactly like a normal DVD disc, complete with menus and special features and 5.1 surround sound. Connect TViX to the TV, plasma, projector, home entertainment system or in-car entertainment system. Key functionality includes: plays all video formats / DivX / MPEG1 / MPEG2; supports Win XP/2000 High capacity HDD - NTFS, FAT32; offers internal power supply for maximum mobility; supports multilingual subtitles and closed caption; offers a high-speed USB 2.0 interface; and enables a firmware upgrade.
